Baby, it is wet outside. Several flash floods in the last few days has made life inconvenient for some people and down right hazardous for others. Several people have lost their homes and belongings to the flood waters. Several others have lost their lives in the flooding.Funny thing is that we were in a five year drought through March of this year. Some cities are still restricting water usage. The area water districts are releasing water to keep the level on the lakes below flooding.
Rain is wonderful in small doses but the downpours the Dallas Ft Worth area have had in the last 3 months are over the top.

I don't know how it is in Texas, but around here (NJ) a lot of homes are built in areas that were flood plains 25 years ago - and still are, technically, today.
They get zoning variances and crowd houses in where trees, grass and wetlands used to be.
Any time there is significant rainfall, disaster ensues.
